The first Linas Agro brand elevator opened in Latvia.
On July 16, the opening ceremony of grain elevator owned by SIA Linas Agro Graudu Centrs took place in Jekabpils. Approximately 125 persons, including some people from AB Linas Agro management, Jekabpils major Leonids Salcevičs, representative of Krustpils council Martiņš Felss, local farmers and farming company owners attended the event that was organized in national Latvian style.
The mayor of Jekabpils was grateful that Linas Agro has chosen Jekabpils to build their first elevator in Latvia, as new working places are created. Jekabpils is the connecting city between Zemgale, Latgale and Vidzeme and 70% of farmers do not have their own storage and handling facilities.
The ‘first harvested grain lot’ was brought in sacks by horses. The real harvesting season in Latvia starts end of July.
